Working with dMFK architects, we have transformed this 1980s office building in Kings Cross with outdoor spaces and plenty of natural light. With a mix of co-working space, offices, meeting rooms, plus a gym and a café, this space had been designed to encourage productive, flexible and collaborative working. York House also has a real focus on sustainability; the existing building itself was renewed with a five-storey extension, and features innovative sustainable materials such as cross-laminated timber and perforated folded aluminium on the roof terrace. It has also received a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certification for taking the buildings efficiency rating from G to A, with methods including the installation of solar panels and premium insulation.
